Water Trail Paddle and River Cleanup for National Public Lands Day



Our “Friends Group” is inviting volunteers to participate in the nation’s largest single-day effort for caring for public lands. We plan to celebrate by having a river clean-up from Castle Rock to Mesquite Bay Central in Lake Havasu City.
Participants will paddle south about 4 miles from Castle Rock and collect litter along the shoreline of the refuge. Take out will be at Mesquite Bay Central. ” Friends,” Anderson Toyota and Jimmy Johns will provide water and refreshments and transportation back to Castle Rock.
Volunteer of all ages and experience levels are welcome. It is a free event if you have a kayak or you can rent one from Southwest Outfitters at a discounted rate of $25 for the event. See below for info.
Directions to Event: Coming from I-40: exit #9 and take hwy. #95 south, turn right onto London Bridge Rd.(first stop Light). If coming North on hwy.#95, turn left onto London Bridge Rd.(last stop Light). Next for either direction, you need to bear right onto Fathom Dr., at Reef Blvd.(stop sign) turn left, the right on Vista and follow road to Castle Rock on left to end.
Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water, vest (supplied by rental), covering(you’ll be out for several hours on the water).
