As the end-of-year holidays grow smaller and smaller in the rear view, one January staple is just around the corner.
Girl Scout Cookie season begins with pre-orders Jan. 6-15, with the cookies arriving and offered from Jan. 16-March 5.
Girl Scout Cookies have been around since 1917, when a Girls Scout Troop in Muskogee, Okla., came up with an idea to fund their projects.
The Muskogee Mistletoe Troop decided it would be a good idea to make and sell cookies in the community. It was a success and soon, other troops caught on and started selling cookies and the process has grown to the enterprise anxiously awaited every year.
Proceeds from Girl Scout Cookie purchases stay local and help create new entrepreneurs. A Girl Scout Cookie purchase helps the next generation of girl entrepreneurs get an important taste of what it takes to be successful – teamwork, planning, and a positive outlook
