The Hav-A-Sis organization in Lake Havasu City, hosted and honored some special women who serve the community and often go unnoticed at the first Heroes In Heels event at Shugrue’s Bridgeview Room, Wednesday evening.
The event is the first for the Hav-A-Sis organization. Honoring women is very important to Hav-A-Sis Director Connie Alexander.
“I think it is incredibly important to honor them since these are the silent heroes behind the scenes, and are very seldom recognized,” Alexander said.
The evening kicked off with dinner and drinks followed by welcome address by Cindy Azar, who also received an award of appreciation, and later, keynote speaker Vicki Mckee took to the stage and spoke to attendees on the importance of helping others.
“Always give back more than you take,” said McKee. “I always want to do something to make someone’s life better. A candle never loses anything by lighting another candle.”
Recognized Heroes in Heels include, Vicki McKee, Harriet McClearen, Stephanie Lane, Kathi DeClark, Cristi Newport, Dr. Heather Anderson, Judy Harvey. Carol Ferrell, Rebecca Claas, Vilma Urbina and Jeanine Chilia.
