The IJSBA Jr. Stars’ annual Day with the Pros happened Sunday.

The Jr. Stars program started 11 years ago as a way for young PWC riders to learn racing skills from professional athletes.  Athletes  Mike Klippenstein and Chris Hagest were just some of the pros that were on hand to share their knowledge the kids.

The Jr. Stars also wore tshirts in memory of PWC’s No. 1 fan, Nedra Atwood. Atwood recently passed away and was a big Jr. Stars and IJSBA supporter. A statue  of Atwood was created by Chris Hagst and is on the corner of Beachcomber and McCulloch boulevards. A memorial for Atwood also took place Sunday afternoon at Body Beach.

The 40th Anniversary of the JetTrim IJSBA World Finals kicked off over the weekend and continues through next weekend.
