After the Mount Olive Lutheran wood shop installed Kiwanis Club benches at Jack Hardie Park last April, workers commented that the benches would not be used without shade.

A member of the wood shop belongs to the Daybreakers Lions Club and proposed the project of erecting a shade over the area.

Under the leadership and funding from the Lions Club, along with donations from the Arizona Awning and Shade, Mansell Welding, Havasu Hardware, Campbell Redi-Mix, Cook Brothers Concrete Pumping, and the blessing of Havasu Parks and Recreation, the project is complete and the area around the benches is shaded.

“The Lions Club is proud to present this addition to the park for enjoyment of the community,” said Daybreakers Lions member Jim Day.
