Calvary Baptist Church encourages the community to get involved in its first Lake Havasu City “Serve our Schools” event Oct. 7, at 8 a.m.

Calvary will have 10 work projects planned at each public school in the Lake Havasu Unified School District and both charter schools.

The goal of Serve our Schools is to have 100 volunteers working on projects at each school, with 1,000 volunteers from the Lake Havasu community serving the schools all at one time on one day.

A Calvary spokesperson  said there are currently groups from throughout the community working on and finishing 31 projects at various schools.

“We want the community of Lake Havasu to come together to support and serve our schools. We still have 74 projects available for you to be a part of to better our schools,” said Amber Smith of Calvary Baptist.
