Every year before Christmas, The Marine Corps League Detachment No. 757 hosts its Christmas Tree fundraising event.

During the July 8 evening monsoon, the trailer used for the fundraiser was struck by lightning and as a result of the ensuing fire, was a total loss.

The trailer was used for transporting and storing lights for lot fencing, two double and three single halogen security lights with stands, signage, a CD player and CDs, Christmas tree stands, seven electric chainsaws, 300 feet of electric extension cords, 700 feet of garden hoses and five rolls of burlap for wetting the trees, flags of the five branches of the armed forces with poles, miscellaneous tools, brooms/shovels/trash cans for clean-up and more.

The League needs help replacing the trailer and its supplies. They are asking for donations of cash or replacements for supplies lost in the fire.
