MCC Inducts Fresh Batch Of Honor Students

Mohave Community College recognized eight students with commendable grade point averages and outstanding displays of leadership. These students were recognized with an induction ceremony into the college’s honor society, Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Chi Chi chapter.

Friends and family of the inductees gathered at the Lake Havasu City MCC campus for a formal ceremony, candle lighting and traditional book signing presentation.

The evening began with and introduction by Campus Dean, Jann Woods. The ceremony was hosted by current Phi Theta Kappa advisors Jenna Felish and Taylor Shipman.

The awards and induction was provided by the current Phi Theta Kappa Officers:

President: Nicholas McGee
VP of Leadership: Molly Corey
VP of Finance: Robert Lowndes
Public Relations Officer: Melanie Arnold

Honorary Guest Speaker of the evening was Lake Havasu City Mayor Cal Sheehy.

Mayor Sheehy discussed his time as a student of the college and how opportunities arise when pursuing education. He referenced the success and growth of the college. He also quoted and gave a brief reading of the famed Dr. Suess book, “Oh! The Places You Will Go!”.
