Oro Grande Opens New Preschool

Oro Grande Classical Academy celebrated a new preschool Thursday morning with a Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting.

The preschool is full day and it models the elementary school’s fulltime hours. The ration is 20 children to two staff members.

“Just excited that Oro Grande now has the opportunity to teach and just enjoy a group of 4-year-olds that now has an opportunity to transition into our school. Give them some great tools and understanding of what our school is about. We started immediately and it’s amazing to see their growth and progress over the first five months,” said Oro Grande Principal Brett Bitterman.

The preschool is tuition-based to help pay for the teachers and tuition is $135 per week/per child.

“I guess the idea is, ensuring that parents have someplace to take their kiddos and that’s what us and the school district are trying to do,” said Bitterman.
