When the Lake Havasu City community hears about a need of one of its citizens, the hearts and pocketbooks open to help.

That’s exactly what happened Sunday when the Red Iron motorcycle club turned out to donate to one child’s battle with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL).

Bobbi Robison told RiverScene Magazine that her daughter, Araya Delp, was diagnosed in mid-February. Araya will be 3 years old April 14.

“She’s a little traumatized by everything that’s going on but she’s fighting,” Robison said.

“It’s a lot for us to go back (to Phoenix) every week. Soon it will be every 10 days for eight weeks and then eight more weeks of treatment. It’s expensive,” Robison said.

Araya is being treated at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. “She’ll have six to eight weeks of each treatment and we are three weeks into our second round.”

The club donated $4,500 to help Robison and Araya’s dad, Ryan, with travel expenses to and from Phoenix. That money can also help with bills and groceries since Robison isn’t working in order to care for Araya.

Araya also has a brother Ryder, 6, who has Autism.

“Cancer has no boundaries or prejudice of age. We’ve been around a lot of families with cancer to help them. It’s a challenge for all family members of a child with cancer. It’s a challenge for them and a lot to deal with, emotionally and financially,” said Red Iron motorcycle club President Doug “Bo” Bryson.

“That’s why part of our mission statement is to help local families,” Bryson said.

Red Iron MC does fundraisers throughout the year to help kids with cancer.
