River Cities United Way in Lake Havasu City did its part to celebrate National Pizza Day and Slice Out Hunger Wednesday.

To celebrate, United Way handed out pizza to its volunteers in the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program, staff, other volunteers and the firefighters at Lake Havasu Station No. 5.

According to Ashley Wood, of River Cities United Way, the organization also handed out pizza to passing homeless folks and many of them offered to volunteer to do work for the agency.
