Lake Havasu High School is full of multi-talented kids. One of these kids is Camila Cuevas, high school Junior, who has had a passion for art her entire life.

While Cuevas has been surrounded by art since she was little, she has only been taking graphic design at the high school for the past two years. 

Cuevas’ artwork is not only impressive from a technique standpoint, but it also shows a passion and depth of self expression.

“My favorite part of art is the sense of peace it gives me and the ability to express myself in a meaningful and personal way,” Cuevas said.

Cuevas mindfully uses different mediums to express diversity in her drawings. 

“I am most proud of my colored pencil snake I completed this past year, which took about a month of careful work and dedication,” Cuevas commented on her favorite art piece she has created.

She works within Lake Havasu High School’s art program to enhance her skills with Mr. Bangsund, art teacher.

Cuevas attributes her growth as an artist to hard work and encouragement.

“I have grown the most as an artist through consistent practice and the encouragement of my teachers and friends, who push me to improve and try new techniques,” she said.

Camila Cuevas is one of many students at Lake Havasu High School whose skills have been honed by an excellent support team, along with personal determination.
