Mary Eldmann, Water Conservation Specialist for Lake Havasu City said there is a need for water education in STEM science education outreach in the community.

“We have been working with Arizona Project Wet for about a year and a half. We have all sorts of community partners, donations and we’re really happy to be putting on the event today,” Eldmann said.

Statewide water festival coordinator Sean Sederstorm said the program has been running since 2000.

“The goal today is to teach fourth-grade students about the natural earth science aspects of water as well as the human components to give them the building block to be good water stewards,” Sederstrom said.
