The girls varsity volleyball team at Telesis Preparatory Academy in Lake Havasu City are on fire.

With a win over Roosevelt Preparatory Academy Monday, the team went to 11-0.

“Our girls volleyball team has been working together for the last three years and has developed into a strong team, each player recognizing each other’s strengths and weaknesses and where there are gaps – each player knows their abilities and where they fit to complete the team, Telesis principal Tara McGuigan said.

“They build on each other’s abilities and encourage each team player with every point and every volley.”

And they plan to keep the winning streak going.

“We are excited for this undefeated year and if they continue to remain undefeated in the CAA (Canyon Athletic Association), they will be the hosts for the playoffs,” McGuigan said.

Telesis Preparatory Academy will host other teams coming to compete against the Telesis Tigers.

“If our varsity team continues through the playoffs, they will have a chance for a State Championship Title at ASU.”

The Girls Volleyball State Championships begin Nov. 7.

“Overall, Telesis Preparatory Academy is very proud of the volleyball team’s passion and commitment to volleyball.

“Our coaches have worked to establish good sportsmanship and dedication to focus on each player’s talents that they bring to our team.”

McGuigan said Athletic Director, Coach Dan Kuch, has built a strong sports program over the past four years and the dedication he has put into programs is evident in team players and the support from their families.

“Telesis Preparatory Academy sports program would not be where it is without Coach Dan Kuch,” she said.

The Lady Tigers next game is at home Thursday v. Harvest Bible at 6 p.m. The final game of the season is Oct. 23.
