Press Release: Temporary Dog Park Closures

In an effort to provide better accommodations at the City’s dog parks,
Lions Dog Park at London Bridge Beach will be closed from Monday, June
6, 2016 at 5:30 a.m. to Monday, June 13, 2016 at 6:00 a.m. By closing
the facility and asking patrons and their pets to use the other dog
parks (Avalon Dog Park and Dylan’s Dog Park at SARA Park) during this
time, crews will be able to perform non-routine maintenance and allow
the turf to recover. We appreciate your assistance and patience.

The city anticipates closing the Lions Dog Park at London Bridge Beach three
(3) times a year and Avalon Dog Park twice (2) a year, based on less
park use. Dylan’s Dog Park at SARA Park will be closed four (4) times
per year, based on more park use. Each closure would be for one week.
