The band 33 Thunder performed at the Flying X Saloon last Friday and Saturday night.

33 Thunder comes to Lake Havasu City often, as they are a traveling band based in Los Angeles, Calif.

RiverScene Magazine’s Tyanna Renee’ asked lead singing bassist, Pete Violas about his performances in Lake Havasu.

Violas said, “In January, we were lucky to perform at the Balloon Festival. That was a great experience. So much fun, so cool.”

33 Thunder was formed around 2017 after Violas and his wife experienced a life-altering event.

While attending the Route 91 Festival, a shooting occurred, killing 58 people.

This event made Violas realize that he needed to follow his dream and start a band, saying, “If I don’t start a country band now, I’m never going to start one.”

33 Thunder quickly formed, performing all around California, Arizona and Nevada.

The band’s name originated from numerology and the constant appearance of the number “33” in Violas’ life along with the meaning behind the word “thunder.”

Violas said, “Thunder, of course, we’re loud, we’re more country rock.”

The band plays country music, recently performing music specifically for the line-dancing community.

Violas has recently loved playing “Drivin’ My Life Away,” by Eddie Rabbitt.

They sing a wide range of country music, Violas saying they sing “Everything from the classic, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Bill Hagert, all the way up to now, Morgan Wallen, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, stuff like that. We cover all the bases.”
