For the past week, residents have been noticing an array of Volkswagen buses arriving in Havasu for the 21st annual Buses By The Bridge, a giant campout of VW bus owners. Bus owners travel all over the U.S. to attend many gatherings.
Events planned for the gathering include a chili cook-off, a cornhole tournament, and a Friday Night Concert. At 7 a.m., Sunday, local Boy Scouts will prepare a pancake breakfast for campers and the public.
In 2016, BBB had 514 VW buses and more than 4,000 people in attendance, making it the largest VW bus camp-out and show in the United States.
The cost to spectators is $2 per person, with free parking, and is good all weekend. Gates open at 7 a.m. Friday through Sunday. VW campers begin cleaning up about 11 a.m. on Sunday.
Buses By The Bridge in Lake Havasu is sponsored by the London Bridge Bullis. See their website for a list of all events: http://www.busesbythebridge.com/Buses_By_The_Bridge/LONDON_BRIDGE_BULLIS.html
