Today was the day that Lake Havasu school students look forward to each year.
It was the day that balloonists visit them and explain the way a hot air balloon works. The kids get to have an up close, personal experience with the balloons every year. They gain information about how balloons and their pilots and crew work and are educated in a way that makes it more interesting for them as they watch the beautiful, serene spectacle when they take to the air.
The balloonists visited schools throughout the Lake Havasu Unified School District as well as Havasu Preparatory Academy, Telesis Preparatory Academy and Calvary Christian Academy.
The Lake Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair continues through Sunday at 3 p.m., at Lake Havasu State Park (Windsor 4). Admission is $15 for adults and under 14 are free.
