The 43rd annual Polar Bear Swim, sponsored by the Lake Havasu Boat and Ski Club, happened Saturday afternoon at London Bridge Beach.

Twenty-two swimmers made the initial plunge at noon with a water temperature of 50 degrees and an air temperature of 54. Super Brave Bear awards were given out to two swimmers who stayed the longest in the water and everybody received a Polar Bear patch along with a Returning Swimmer year patch. Awards were also given for the youngest boy and girl, and the oldest swimmer.

Bethany Hardin, from the Ski Club, and her mom made sure everyone had a cup of hot chocolate or a bowl of warm food when they shivered out of the water.
