Women-Operated Nonprofits Celebrated During Women’s History Month

A special dinner at Mohave Community College in Lake Havasu City Monday evening honored seven women-operated nonprofits in the community.

Jenna Lowder, Dean of Student and Community Engagement at MCC said, “This is our Women’s History Month annual dinner. Seven local organizations are the hostesses of tables, and they have decorated tables with things that represent their organizations,” Lowder said.

H.A.V.E.N., Women of Willpower, Soroptimist International of Lake Havasu City, Lake Havasu City government, Girl Scouts, Faith and Grace, and Hav-A-Sis were represented and celebrated.

“I’ve asked them to each give a five-minute success story of a way they’ve impacted women or girls in Lake Havasu City,” Lowder said.

“We can celebrate them, and they can network with each other and have a fun night of food and chatting and getting to know other people.

“I’m just really excited to be supporting local women who are doing amazing things and lifting up other women and other women who lift up other women,” Lowder said.

Angelina’s Italian Kitchen catered the event.
