It’s that time again when the Western Arizona Humane Society hosts the Duck Derby Races to raise funds for a good cause and it happens this Saturday.

“This fundraiser has been going on for over 25 years now. This year, we have done great with presale tickets with the help of local restaurants in town,” said Director of Operations at Western Arizona Humane Society Steven Jenkins.

Participants simply order a Rubber Duck to enter into a race with other participants for a chance to win.

The event begins at 11 a.m., at The English Village under the London Bridge. All proceeds benefit the Western Arizona Humane Society and proceeds  help maintain services at the local shelter.

Those interested may  purchase Duck Derby tickets in advance at Western Arizona Humane Society (WAHS) for $5 each.

“Race tickets are going fast and are super limited so we have about 500 tickets left. They  are selling fast,” Jenkins said. “We may have a limited amount that morning but its not guaranteed since they are going quickly.”

For more information on donating and ordering multiple “Quack Packs” which include more than one ticket and event shirt, contact the Western Arizona Humane Society at 928-855-5083 or visit their location at 2610 Sweetwater Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., prior to Saturday’s event.
