Families can prepare for the upcoming school year at the “Camp Havasu” Back-to-School Health Fair at the Lake Havasu City Aquatic Center this Saturday, from  8 to noon.

The free event is hosted by the Havasu Community Health Foundation, and will provide a variety of free health services for children, including school immunizations, general sports physicals, dental exams, vision and developmental screenings, informational booths and children’s haircuts.

Families will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance from pediatrician Dr. Hindman.

Attendees can enjoy free breakfast, face painting, popcorn, a treasure hunt and prize giveaways throughout the morning. Free swimming after noon, to 4 p.m., will also be available.

Sponsors include; Allo Fiber, Arizona Complete Health, BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona, Convergence Health, Frontier Skin & Cancer, Milemarkers, and Havasu Family Eyecare providing services throughout the day.

The Aquatic Center is located at 100 Park Ave. The event is free to attend.

Lake Havasu Baptist Church Back to School Bash

Another back-to-school fair taking place also on Saturday, is the free Back to School Bash from 2 to 4 p.m. at Lake Havasu Baptist Church.

The community event will provide free school supplies for students in kindergarten through sixth grade, helping families prepare for the first day of school without the added expense.

There will be plenty of fun for kids, too, with indoor bounce houses, an ice cream truck, cotton candy and raffle prizes throughout the afternoon.

The first 25 children to arrive can receive a free haircut before heading back to class.

The event is open to all families and is designed to bring the community together while making sure local students have the supplies they need for a successful school year.

Admission is free, and organizers encourage families to arrive early, as school supplies and haircuts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Lake Havasu Baptist Church is located at 2101 Palo Verde Blvd. N.
