More than 1,000 Lake Havasu City folks gathered together Friday evening to enjoy the annual Community Christmas Dinner at the Aquatic Center.
Diners were treated to traditional holiday dishes served by Lake Havasu City employees and members of the City Council as they enjoyed the spirit of the season.
The jolly old man himself – Santa – showed up and made sure that children received gifts and got to share their Christmas wishes.
The event is hosted by the city every year and has grown to bring the community together to celebrate the holiday season.
The New Hope Calvary Church will for the 17th year host the Drive Through Nativity featuring live performers and animals this weekend.
The tableau of the birth of Jesus will be staged in Desert Hills on the lot adjacent to 3735 N. London Bridge Road beginning Saturday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., ending Sunday with a repeat from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Starting at dusk from the comfort of personal vehicles, those visiting the Nativity will enjoy luminaries lighting “The Road to Bethlehem” as they make their way to the manger. Special lighting and Christmas music will add to the experience.
This is a community event, and all are welcome. For more information, call 928-764-0122.
