Classic Cars, Music And Pin Ups Found At Rockabilly Event This Weekend

Get transported back in a time in the era of Rock and Roll music, classic cars and pin up fashion at the annual Rockabilly Reunion event taking place Friday through Sunday at Lake Havasu State Park.

The annual event is organized by Kenny Cuppetelli and returns with live bands including an Elvis impersonator, vendors, unique cars and motorcycles. The popular pin up competition will be hosted by Miss Elvi Pearl.

“The pin up beauty pageant has been going on ever since the event started. I believe they have about 30 contestants each year, ” said Lake Havasu resident and former Miss Havasu contestant winner Heather Pace. “This year, I will have a booth doing hair and makeup at the event, so any women and girls can come to my Rock-a-Doos Salon booth to get pin up ready’.”

Over the years, Pace has won pretty much every category in the pin up competition and knows a thing or two about perfecting the look.

“The secret is a great roller set, and you must have a good hair flower that will tie in your whole hair style,” Pace said.

For those interested in food, a food court will be available with a variety of choices. Collectors and car enthusiasts will also be on hand displaying more than 800 vehicles as well.

For those interested in the music, a few bands playing this weekend include Scott Bruce -Elvis Tribute playing live on Saturday, The Booze Bombs Band, Mighty Flea Circus, The Centuries and many others.

Rockabilly does get really packed so be sure to arrive early for parking. Admission price is $20 on Friday. On Saturday, tickets are $ 30 per person and on Sunday, tickets are $20 per person. Children 11 years of age and under are free.

Rockabilly Reunion takes place at Lake Havasu State Park Windsor 4 on 699 London Bridge Road. Gate Entrance is located at 245 London Bridge Road.
