The SARA Park BMX Raceway has undergone many maturations since it was built in the early 1990s.

The most recent upgrades to the track happened two years ago when it was rebuilt from the ground up. The asphalt turns, however remained in place. The BMX track is approximately a quarter-mile long and is located at 7260 Sara Park Lane in Lake Havasu City.

There is a wide variety of options for those wanting to experience BMX.

New riders can use the track for one day free of charge. All riders need is a helmet, long-sleeved shirt, pants and enclosed shoes. Of course, the most important requirement is a bike. But if trying this sort for the first time, the track offers loner bikes and helmets.

The track is open every Tuesday and Thursday night. Practice and sign-ups are from 6 to 7 p.m. The cost for Racing ASAP is $10 to race and practice.

There is a balance track (Patrick Tinnell Balance Bike Track) for kids that are 5 and under. The cost is $5 to race. Practice is free for the balance-track riders.

For more information, please contact track operator Santone DeCol at 928-208-0668 or visit the Facebook page at Sara Park BMX.
