Christian Rods & Customs Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Chapter boasts 35 local members who strive to be good neighbors in the local car club community.

“We are a ministry first and a car club second,” said club vice president Lloyd Ames.

The club stays informed of local hot rod show-and-shines to provide support through attendance, registration and participation, or volunteering manpower to aid event operations.

“We support the car hobby but with a Christian basis,” said club president Dick Stiller. “We support all the shows we can.”

For example, recent endeavors included supporting the inaugural car show hosted by Lake Havasu High School’s Hot Rod Knights car club in late October, and the Anderson Chrysler Veteran’s Day Celebration car show benefiting U.S. military veterans.

The club is nondenominational and formed in May 2014. Members pay $50 annual dues and must sign a statement of faith. Dues cover a single, couple or entire family. The members open and close each meeting in prayer. Prayer chain requests also are incorporated. Prospect members should own a hot rod, project car, or have a goal of owning one.

Monthly meetings are at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month at High Octane Homes and Real Estate, 2039 N. McCulloch Blvd. On the fourth Monday, club members convene for a dine out somewhere in Mohave County during which driving their hot rods to the selected spot is encouraged.
