The Journey of Hope riders arrived from Bullhead City Thursday morning to begin their two-day visit in Lake Havasu. The riders regrouped at Walmart Supercenter of The Shops at Lake Havasu around 10 a.m.
The Journey of Hope riders are a group of 32 young adults who are en route from Long Beach, Calif., to Washington, D.C. Lake Havasu is the second major stop on their route.

All riders are undergraduate honors students. The goal of the journey is both personal experience as well as raising awareness for people with disabilities
Once the group gathered at The Shops at Lake Havasu, they were transported to Lake Havasu High School for a meet-and-greet and they will be housed there for the two-night stay. They will be meet with the local Special Olympics participants as well as members of New Horizons. The riders will also have a day of relaxation on the lake.
Friday morning, the Journey of Hope Riders will participate in the “Almost 9th Annual Dashboard Cookie Bake Off,” sponsored by Anderson Auto Group. Stay tuned for the winners and competition round-up.
