Kmart closed its doors Sunday afternoon in Lake Havasu City. As Ron Wickenheiser, Allison Testa, Jim Iseminger, and Ana Want said their goodbyes over the public address system, hugs and tears were shared all around.

“I’ve been with Kmart for 45 years and have been with this Kmart for the last 30 years. Best part of this store is helping our members out and also the great associates working here. And over the years working with the great organizations here in town. The support we got from the community, we just want to say thank you,” said manager Ron Wickenheiser.

“I’ve been with Kmart for 35 years and I was here when we opened this store and when we close the doors today. I love Havasu and I’m glad to be here and I’m sorry to see us go but we love Havasu people and the employees,” said Allison Testa.

“I’ve with Kmart for 35 years. I just want to say thank you for everyone shopping with us and I’m gonna miss the employees,” said Jim Iseminger.

“I’ve been with this Kmart for 31 years. I’m sad to leave my Kmart family. But Kmart is no more. So, I will still have them forever. Thank you to everyone that came to shop here,” said Ana Want.

So sad. My mom, Lynda Clark, worked in the jewelry department at LHC Kmart for years before she passed in 2005. She loved the store and her Kmart family.

I fondly remember Lynda singing Santa songs on the intercom to Leroy. She was a joy to work with. I never thought I would see this Kmart go it was such a good preforming store worked there many years.

  5. Jana Speed says:

I worked at this Kamart for nearly 8 years, first as a cashier, jewelry department associate, customer service supervisor, and any other position that needed a fill in. I am so sad and disappointed in Sears Holdings for closing this store. It was vital to the Havasu Community, especially the retired sector that don’t drive and depended on Kmart for their medications and daily necessities. We were a real family there, not just fellow employees. We ate together, laughter together, celebrated births and deaths as a family does. This group of people were the best I ever worked with! It is with intense sadness that I say….. so long Kmart……you will be missed.

I suppose it’s “progress” but I am sure gonna miss it.

  7. Darlene says:

We will miss our close to us to get what we needed store. We started worrying about it when we couldn’t get a Nathan’s hot dog anymore. We are so sorry for all the employees that have been there so long. Good luck to all of them finding a new job.
