The Lake Havasu Classic Outboard Championships will kick off it’s three-day-long event Oct. 14, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Nautical Beach Front Resort. The community is also invited to a special Friday Night Pit Party Meet and Greet.
Formula 1 Powerboat Championship will conduct the powerboat racing event, which is known for its fast and exciting racing performed by many international powerboat racing champions.
In 1964, Robert McCulloch founded the Outboard Championships and soon the race became a Lake Havasu Thanksgiving weekend tradition, drawing competitors from all over the world. Lake Havasu City later continued to host the Lake Havasu Classic Outboard Championships throughout the years. This year, it kicks off Oct. 14.
” We will have everything from free viewing to a special VIP ticket option,” said organizer Tim Seebold with Seebold Sports Race Shop. ” We also will have pit access where fans can come in and meet the drivers, get autographs and come to talk to them for free. All in the pit area,” he said.
Free fan viewing will be at the Nautical Beach Front Resort at 1000 McCulloch Blvd. N., which is also the race headquarters overlooking Thompson Bay. The event is sponsored by Anderson Toyota.
The Outboard Championships will feature three days of exciting and power packed racing featuring Formula 1; Tri-Hull and Formula Lights.
For special VIP access, you may purchase tickets for $125 ( One-Day VIP Pass ) or a two-day VIP Pass for $200 (Kids 12 and under get in free with paid adult VIP). Regular non VIP access is free to the public.
