MCC PR-Free GED Orientation Offered

Mohave Community College is offering an orientation for people who are interested in taking preparatory classes for the General Education Development (GED) diploma exam.
The Lake Havasu City campus is hosting the three-day orientation from 9 a.m. to 1:05 p.m. from Tuesday, Sept. 29 through Thursday, Oct. 1 in Building 200 on the campus at 1977 Acoma Blvd., West. Attendance is mandatory all three days of orientation, which help students identify education goals and evaluate academic skills in reading, writing, language, and math. There is no cost to attend the orientation.
If students identify where improvement is needed, they can enroll in precollege studies classes, or GED prep classes. Students will then receive individualized instruction on how to improve those skills, as well as learn more about how to use computers and classroom materials. Class fees range between $15 to $35 based on income and family size.
Students must bring official documentation of citizenship or legal U.S. residency to the orientation. Students should also complete an MCC application at www.mohave.edu/admissions and obtain an MCC student ID prior to attending orientation.
For more information on preparing to take the GED, call (866) 664-2832. Accommodations are available through the Disability Services Department.
