Polar Bear Day Participants Plunge Into Lake Havasu For The Chill Of It

To local Havasuians who are used to temperatures over 110 degrees in the summertime, the air temp of 57 degrees is a bit  chilly. But to some that are visiting from cooleer climates, the water was just perfect for a Polar Bear Day plunge!

Participants lined the London Bridge Beach to take the plunge into the cold water and some weren’t phased a bit, while  others ran right back out. Others were deemed “chicken” and only stuck their toes in the water.

According to event organizer Bethany Hardin’s sign, the water temperature was  also 57 degrees.
