It’s now easier for residents to stay connected to RiverScene Magazine, thanks to a new mobile application (App) which is available now, bringing local news, events, businesses and community resources together in one place.
“We wanted something where you can open your phone and see what’s happening around town,” said Neil Betrue, with Riverscene Magazine and application developer.
The app launched in August 2026, and features the latest RiverScene stories, local events, a Business Directory, City Guide, livestreams and the ability for users to submit their own events.
One of the key features is the RSM Connect feature, which allows users to create an account, share photos and connect with others in the community.
“We didn’t want an app where you just open it, read something and leave,” Betrue said. “We want people engaging, sharing and connecting with the community.”
The app was developed alongside a complete redevelopment of the Riverscene Magazine website. The goal was not simply to create another digital platform, but to make it easier for residents and visitors to stay connected with the city.
“This has definitely been a project! We were developing the app at the same time we were completely redeveloping the RiverScene Magazine website. And we didn’t want to rush either one just so we could say they were done.

“We wanted to see if this is actually going to make RiverScene better for the people who use it. That was a question the team repeatedly returned to during development,” said Betrue.
Whether residents are looking for something to do on the weekend, searching for a local business, checking out the latest news or sharing a photo, RiverScene hopes the app becomes their go-to resource for what’s happening in Lake Havasu City.
“This isn’t just our website stuffed into an app,” Betrue said. “We built this to be something you actually use. It is now incredibly easy to stay connected with the city we love,” Betrue said. Now that it’s launched, we’re not sitting back saying, ‘Well, that’s done.’ We’re just getting started!”
The RiverScene Magazine app is free and available by searching “RiverScene Magazine in the Apple App Store or Google Play. The free app is available for Apple and Android devices.
