Grace Arts Live community theater is alive with “The Sound of Music” as it presents the popular Broadway show beginning tonight.
Grace Arts cast is set to sing at the top of their voices, dance and yodel their way through Governess Maria’s storyline, which is set in Austria during a time when political tensions in nearby Germany were near boiling point. The story hinges on courage and confidence being strongholds in the face of adversity.
Song favorites in the popular musical include “My Favorite Things”, “Do-Re-Mi”, “Climb Every Mountain”, “Edelweiss”, and “The Sound of Music”.
As reported on www.graceartslive.com, “The Sound of Music” musical television production was a sensation when it first aired 52 years ago. It quickly gained popularity and continues to be the most successful movie musical in history.
Grace Arts Live theater is at 2146 McCulloch Blvd., in Havasu. The upcoming show times for “Sound of Music” include 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays March 10-12, 17-19, and 24-26. Admission is $20/adults and $12/youth.
