School Spirit days are what third grader Ryder Spencer looks forward to at Oro Grande Elementary when they are held at school.

“I like when we get to wear our school colors to class every Friday, or when we have crazy hair or color days,” Spencer said.

Despite being one of the most school-spirited students in school, Spencer has maintained good grades in class, and is also very dedicated to his education.

“He takes his school work very seriously,” said Nicole Luther who teaches at Oro Grande Elementary.

“ He always turns his homework in and is a great role model to his fellow classmates.”

Despite playing tag outside during recess, Spencer says he enjoys the music and computer classes offered at the school. He says the staff at Oro Grande Elementary make going to school enjoyable.

“My teacher is really nice she helps us out a lot, and I think our principal is also really cool and knows how to make our school really fun.”

The 8-year-old says he plans to become a scientist when he grows up.
