Telesis Hosts Special Basketball Tip Off

The Arizona National Wheelchair Basketball team, The Phoenix Suns, came to Lake Havasu City Friday to help Telesis Preparatory Academy tip off the season.

The national team took on community members in wheelchairs to raise funds for the Telesis basketball team. Admission to the event was $5 and Anderson Toyota matched funds raised dollar for dollar.

Local participants included Mayor Mark Nexsen, Mayor Elect Cal Sheehy, LHPD Chief of Police Dan Doyle, LHFD Fire Chief Brian Davis, Suddenlink Regional VP Mike Horton, Ryan Barnes of Anderson Auto Group, City Council member David Lane, City Manager Jess Knudson, Joe Ulmer of Silverado Custom Homes, Cindy Dionne and Shannon Madrigal of  Coldwell Banker A Team, Mike Washington, and Jake Woods of Freedom Roofing Co.

Suns players included No. 44 Nick Pryor, No. 11 Robert Reed, No. 13 Stephen Binning, No. 34 Dan Clemente, No.2 Gilbert Guanajuato and No. 14 Zach “Speedy” Johnson.
