A tall glass of lemonade on a hot summer day is always an excellent treat, especially when it’s being served by a young individual trying to help the community.

Bluemedia and Duality Public Relations are teaming up to inspire and support budding entrepreneurs this summer. The two companies have donated 100 free lemonade stands to young kids who want to fundraise for local nonprofit organizations.

Mia Love Huggett is an 11-year-old girl who was one of countless children entered and one of the few to be selected.

“She always wants to help others,” Mia’s mother, Marti Huggett, said. Mia was so excited to get started that she was already making plans before she had her own lemonade stand.

Half of the proceeds raised by Mia, will go to the charity of her choice. Mia has selected not just one charity, but three that she would like to donate to; the Norona Effect, the Western Arizona Humane Society and Pay it Forward Havasu.

The challenge Mia will have to face, is the location of her stand. While most of the competitors are in the Phoenix area, Mia is one of the few who are in less populated towns.

Besides her lemonade business, Mia is also involved in cheer, National Honor Society, student council, and helps take care of her little brother.

This isn’t the first time Mia and her family have tried to help others. Besides raising money for this competition, they also have helped the homeless.

“Mia has a heart of pure gold,” her mother said. The young girl is very motivated to help others and always strives to do more.

At her lemonade stand, she will also be selling pink lemonade, low sugar and sugar free lemonade, frozen lemonade, water and even fresh cookies.
