LHHS Volleyball Team Plays Its First 2026 Home Match

The Lake Havasu High School volleyball team played its first match on Friday, against the Desert Mountain Wolves. The Desert Mountain Wolves won in a sweep against the Freshman/Sophomore, Junior Varsity, and Varsity team.

The Lady Knights kept up with the Desert Mountain Wolves for the most part, staying not far behind in each set.

Tayler Powell, head volleyball coach, said, “I think we saw a really nice improvement in our efforts in defense. I think that that really reflected in the energy that we were seeing from the girls. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of progress this year.”

The volleyball team is looking to improve more this year, and Powell said she cannot wait to see their improvements by the end of the school year.

Even though the Lady Knights faced a loss, their morale stayed up the entire time and they celebrated all the small victories during the matches.

Kenzie Main, ninth grade varsity player said, “I feel like the game went really well. I think we played to the best of our ability. We could’ve done better, but we played pretty good.”

The team kept its attitudes up throughout the game, never wavering in their spirits.

The Lady Knights will play against the Lee Williams Volunteers on Sept. 8, at Lake Havasu High School.
