The Arizona Cardinals Caravan stopped at Nautilus Elementary School Friday morning and hosted a mini training camp. The students got to participate in various football training activities.
Orlando Avila, Senior Manager of Cardinals Marketing and Broadcasting Services, said the caravan gives the Cardinals the opportunity to come to bring a piece of game day to fans in communities that may not be able to attend the actual games.
“This is a great turn out. There are a lot of Cardinal’s fans out here and we have a great radio affiliate here with KNTR,” Avila said.
“We brought out our cheerleaders and Big Red for some photo ops. We have an alumni player and a current player here – Marcus Golden and alumni Ben Patrick who was in our Super Bowl and actually caught our first Super Bowl touchdown,” he said.
The caravan had attempted to visit Lake Havasu in 2020 Avila said but becasue of the COVID-19 pandemic, the visit was put on hold.
Later in the afternoon, the Cardinals had a meet and greet at London Bridge Beach.
