Golf And Brew Hosts Hav-A-Sis School Supply Drive

Hav-A-Sis hosted its school supply drive Thursday, obtaining school supplies to give to children who are in need.

Hav-A-Sis is a charitable organization based in Lake Havasu City that focuses on fundraisers and charities to assist underprivileged groups of people in the community.

The organization’s school drive at Golf and Brew received school supplies donated from community members.

One of the event organizers, Kim Ross, said, ”We are hoping to gather much needed school supplies for families and children who may have a financial problem in gathering up themselves”

Ross is the Second Vice President for Hav-A-Sis.

“We host several different kinds of fundraisers and our support is mainly geared to veterans, children in Lake Havasu and any other miscellaneous needs we like to fill in our community,” Ross said.

The supplies they received will be utilized as the school year begins, with extra supplies being given to teachers to provide to children throughout the school year.

Golf and Brew played a big role in this drive, hosting and helping organize. 

Hav-A-Sis and Golf and Brew have partnered for this drive in years past, always finding willing contributors.

Jayneen Thornton, owner of Golf and Brew said, “We love this because the kids are going back to school and there are several kids here in Lake Havasu that do not have the means to get their own school supplies, and sadly, when they don’t have their own school supplies, the teachers are left to supply the kids with those supplies.”
