About 100 Animals at the Western Arizona Humane Society got a special meal Thursday morning, thanks to one local resident and several volunteers who worked to make this happen for the furry residents of the shelter.

“They are all getting extra spoiled today. All of them,” said Patty Gilmore, Director of Operations at The Western Arizona Humane Society in Lake Havasu City.

Lake Havasu City resident and business owner Harriet Mclearen, along with volunteers prepared chicken and rice trays along with dessert for all dogs at the shelter.

“We made sure that the prepared chicken and rice was safe with no seasonings. We also served dessert which consisted of biscuits and a bit of whipped cream which was donated by Shamrock,” said Mclearen. “The dogs were so happy today and it was so much fun.”

Mclearen also challenges other restaurants to volunteer their time to safely cater the dog’s healthy lunch.

“If anyone would like to do the same to help these dogs, they will sure love the extra attention,” Mclearen said.

This is such a beautiful thing to see. It brought a smile to my face knowing how happy these fur-babies were to receive such a special treat. And apparently they weren’t the only ones smiling! The proof is in the pics. Bravo, bravo, BRAVO!
