Lake Havasu Rotary/Interact Museum of Horrors Debuts Oct. 25

The Lake Havasu City Rotary Club along with the Lake Havasu High School Interact Club has some frightful fun planned for the Halloween season.

The Museum of Horrors opens Oct. 25 at ASU Havasu Campus, 100 University Way, Pod E at 5 p.m.

Rotary president Allen Windholz said the haunted house had been an idea he had for a while.

“We started working on planning when school started this year. We are working with the Interact Club at the school, which we sponsor,” he said.

The Interact Club is just what its name implies. It “interacts” with the community and holds its own fundraisers to support its projects.

The Musuem of Horrors is something that is a labor of love for Windholz.

He said he loves to be involved and to participate in creative endeavors. And this is definitely that.

Windholz said there are 10 themed rooms with various mazes and hallways. “There is even a mirror maze,” he said.

“It’s been interesting. I like to be creative and it’s great that we’ve been able to do this.”

Interact Club members constructed skulls, painted walls, decorated and put the rooms together, according to Jillian Danielson, LHC Rotary Media Director. Danielson, as part of Lake Havasu City Rotary Club, worked to facilitate some of the implementation of the Halloween event.

Some of the Interact students, along with some ASU students will be live actors participating in the Museum of Horrors.

At the Oct. 25 opening of the Museum of Horrors, C.J. Graham, better known as the character Jason in “Friday the 13^th, Part 6” will be on hand from 5 to 7 p.m., to sign autographs – free of charge. There is a limit of one autograph per person.

Rotary club members will be taking tickets, performing as actors and helping out throughout the event.

The Museum of Horrors will be presented on Oct. 25 and 26, from 5 to 10 p.m., Oct. 27, from 4 to 7 p.m., and Oct 31 from 5 to 10 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person. Windholz said 100 percent of the proceeds support Rotary charities.

The Museum of Horrors is not recommended for young children and all children who attend must be accompanied by an adult.
