Special Needs Ballers Participate In Softball Scrimmage

Special Needs softball players participated in a scrimmage sponsored by Special Olympics of Lake Havasu City Tuesday.

The Men in Blue, aka the Lake Havasu City Police Department, and Lake Havasu Blazers Unified Softball teed off at Dick Samp Memorial Park to raise funds for new uniforms and equipment for Lake Havasu’s Special Olympic softball team.

The game ended in a tie 2-2.

Special Olympics goal is to empower more than 180,000 Arizonans with intellectual disabilities to be healthy, productive and respected members of society through SOAZ’s year round sports training, competitions and support programs.

Lake Havasu’s Special Olympians compete in games throughout the state.
