Denise’s Day, a local cancer fundraiser, is holding a one-mile walk Saturday, October 8.
The walk will begin at 9 a.m. and end at Springberg McAndrew Park. After the walk, there will be live music by Matt Farris and Kevin Jaxson and the Midnight Sun, and also food and refreshments.
Participants have been getting donations from friends and family who are sponsoring them to walk, and there will be special recognitions and prize baskets for the top three fundraisers.
Denise’s Day, a nonprofit, has been raising money for local families since 2010 in remembrance of Denise Madrid. Funds raised from Denise’s Day events go directly to families in the LOCAL area battling cancer.
