The Western Arizona Humane Society was the recipient of a large donation Thursday.
WAHS Director of Operations Steve Jenkins said, “We had angels visit us Thursday. Mrs. Nancie Echeverria, and Scott Bigham who was representing an anonymous donor. Last year, Nancie challenged the community to donate to WAHS and she would match up to $500,000.
“Scott represents an anonymous donor who stepped up to the challenge last year and donated $100,000,” Jenkins said.
“Flash forward to this beautiful day in November 2019 and they both have done it again with $100,000 each,” he said.
Jenkins said Echevaria remains prepared to match community donations for another $100,000. He challenged the community to collect on Echeveria’s challenge.
“So much love and thanks to Nancie and the anonymous donor. We could never do it without you,” Jenkins said.
“One of the best run animal shelters in the US. They place so many dogs and cats per day, to loving homes. Please consider making a donation. No amount is too small and will save a beautiful animals life,” said Michael McCulloch who also donated $5,000.
