Holiday Cheer Kicks Off With Annual Festival Of Lights Event

Friday evening in Lake Havasu City, 115 hearty swimmers took to the water in the annual competition to determine who would flip the switch to ignite the Festival of Lights along the Bridgewater Channel.

Bradley Brown, of Lake Havasu City, was the winner and flipped the switch to begin the holiday magic under the London Bridge.

In second place was Urijah Dix, of Washington State. Third was John Burn, of East Village, Calif.

The first place female finisher and fifth overall, was Aubrey Cardozo, of Huntington Beach, Calif.

The Festival of Lights event kicks off the 12 Days of Christmas celebration at Kokomo, located in the London Bridge Resort.

Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from Dec. 3 to 19, from 5 to 8 p.m., there will be festive activities for the whole family.

Activities will include photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, roasting s’mores, dropping off letters to Santa, and so much more.
