The Kiwanis Club of Lake Havasu City invites the community to show off their patriotic spirit during the fifth annual Kiwanis Krazy Bowling Tournament on Saturday, at Havasu Lanes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year’s tournament, themed “‘Merica! Red, White & Bowl!”, will feature friendly competition while raising money for Kiwanis Community Youth Programs.
“We thought since this year we are celebrating 250 years, that The United States commemorated its birthday, we thought this years’ patriotic theme would be a great idea,” said Kwanis Club President,Jamie Hindley.
Registration is $50 per person, with participants competing on four person teams.
The entry fee includes three rounds of bowling, shoe rental, lunch and a day of family friendly fun. Organizers will also award a $50 prize to the best-dressed registered player, encouraging bowlers to embrace the event’s patriotic theme.
Hindley said there will be themed baskets and other prizes that will be awarded during the event.
“We will also host a competition for the best outfit,” said Hindley. “Proceeds from the tournament will support Kiwanis youth programs, including scholarships and other resources that benefit children throughout the community.”
Space for teams and sponsors is limited, and organizers encourage participants to register before Saturday. For more information, visit Kwanislhc.com.

Western Arizona Humane Society “Pins for Paws” Back To the ’80’s Theme
The Western Arizona Humane Society will host a bowling fundraiser this weekend in the evening at 6 p.m., also at Havasu Lanes.
The fundraiser is ’80’s-themed and will be offering the community an opportunity to support local shelter animals while enjoying an evening of bowling, ’80’s music and fun.
“Everybody is going to just have a lot of fun and our supporters will get a chance to let loose while also doing what they do best and that’s supporting the animals,” said Western Arizona Humane Society Volunteer Coordinator, Brandi Engler. ” They will also have the opportunity to win some great raffles prizes as well.”
The event is scheduled for Saturday, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Havasu Lanes. Participants can register as a team of five for $200 or as an individual for $40.
Registration includes three hours of bowling, shoe rental and event giveaways. Special drink promotions provided by Tito’s Handmade Vodka will also be available throughout the evening.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Western Arizona Humane Society and help provide care, shelter and medical services for homeless animals in the region. For more information, email brandi@westernarizonahumane.org or call 928-855-5083.
