Rodeo event coverage sponsored by Big O Tires Lake Havasu
By Nicole Matheson
The great fun of rodeo is back in action in Lake Havasu City this weekend when the Grand Canyon Professional Rodeo Assn., and Delbert Days saddles up to bring entertainment and action to the tri-state area.
GCPRA brings traditional rodeo fun to the SARA Park Rodeo Grounds Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., with events such as steer wrestling, saddle bronc and bareback riding, calf roping, bull riding and much more.
Little Delbert Days
Starting at 10 a.m., and lasting until 4 p.m., the festivities for Little Delbert Days get underway. Delbert Days, which takes place at the rodeo grounds and is included in the price of admission for the rodeo, brings laughs and good times for all.
There are many free activities with general admission including mechanical bulls, zip lining, petting zoo, climbing wall, bungee jumping and a great deal more for visitors.
A fan favorite of Delbert Days is the sheep riding event for children which begins at 10 a.m. The entry fee for this event is $10 and is a first come first serve sign-up. More information for this specific event can be found at havasurodeo.com under Delbert Days.
Volunteer Based
In its 16th year in Havasu, Delbert Days has built a volunteer force from the Sea Scouts, Police Explorers, Civil Air Patrol and CERT which in turn brings out family and friends to support the event. With attendance reaching upwards of 5,000 visitors a day, Delbert Days offers a wide selection of food vendors and carnival events.
Admission into the Rodeo and Delbert Days is $15 for adults, and anyone under 15 years of age is free. For more information visit the Havasu Rodeo website.
