This weekend is the perfect time to enjoy many of Lake Havasu City’s artists at the third annual Havasu Art Trail.

Havasu Art Trail is a local nonprofit that features the annual Art Trail. The public is invited to visit and meet the artists where they work on their creations. The Art Trail strives to encourage a connection between the community and its artists.

One such artist is Jeff Robinson. Robinson has been a Havasu resident since 1981 and has retired fron the real estate business.

Robinson is a landscape artist specializing in oil painting.

“I do mostly desert scenes – places I’ve seen around Havasu while riding razors in the desert,” Robinson said.

“I do some ocean scenes and stuff like that. I do it for my own pleasure. I like to paint,” he said.

Robinson said he has been painting most of his life. “I quit for about 20 years during my career and when I retired, I took it back up.”

In his studio, Robinson said he has more than 200 paintings – some he continues to work on. “I usually have two or three paintings going at once.”

He was displaying 80 paintings for the Havasu Art Trail.

Not only is Robinson a prolific artist, but he is also the recent recipient of a heart transplant utilizing new technology.

The technology uses a new organ perfusion that allows the heart to beat as it was transported in a box from another medical center. The procedure, dubbed “heart-in-a-box” was performed at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.

The Havasu Art Trail continues through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information and a map of the artist’s studios, visit havasuarttrail.com.
