While most think of the Super Bowl coming at the end of January, first part of February, the Lake Havasu City Chiefs 7U played in theirs Saturday. The Chiefs went up against the Mohave Valley River Valley Devils in Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse in Bullhead City at 8 a.m.
Throughout the season, the 7U Chiefs have only allowed one touchdown this season. The team won seven regular season games and one playoff game before reaching the Super Bowl, winning 21-6.
The Lake Havasu Chiefs youth football program is a non-school-related activity that features kids playing in divisions from ages 5 to 14.
The 7U division, which has 25 kids ages 5 to 7, just completed an undefeated season.
The Chiefs are part of the River City Conference, which plays teams from the Bullhead City area, Kingman, Yuma and Parker.
The Chiefs faced off against Yuma last week in a playoff game to reach the Super Bowl and won.
The youth football season starts in June with preconditioning. The program teaches sportsmanship, ethics, morals, and each participant earns their position.
