This year, the city hopes to see that number reach first place to show that it recognizes the need to conserve water citizens support actions to decrease the city’s pressure on the Colorado River water supply.

As stated in a press release, “As a desert community located along one of the most endangered rivers in the United States, we recognize the immeasurable importance of water conservation not only for our City, but also for the millions of Americans that depend on the limited, precious resource that sits in our backyard; the Colorado River.”

By pledging to save water, citizens not only unite for a great cause, but are also eligible to win hundreds of prizes provided by the Wyland National Mayor’s Water Conservation Challenge.
